Friends, we are going to conduct our 9th conference at a time when the world is in a huge crisis. In capitalism the working class already faces the wrath of exploitation but during recession this gets worse. Unemployment, poverty and inflation have made the condition unbearable. Retrenchment, budget cut in social welfare sectors has become the norm among the ruling class of all countries. The world has seen many resistance movements against these policies from the working class and students. Yet, the ruling class is devising new methods to cripple them.
Even in our country the right-wing forces have risen. The alliance between corporate class and Sangh Parivar got manifested in the form of Narendra Modi being appointed as the prime minister of India. The working class of India is facing tough times due to this. The attack on workers, farmers, women, minorities, dalit and democratic  forces have increased. There is a conspiracy to change leftover scientific elements in our curriculum. Posts related to important institutions are selectively being filled with people associated with the ideology of sangh-parivar.
During these adverse situations, there have been many inspiring struggles by students. From Jadavpur university to Delhi University, we have seen how students have put up a brave fight. In fact the students of FTII are still on strike against the appointment of Ganjendar Chauhan  as chairman. There has been an increase in the number of struggles put up by workers, farmers and women across the country. Not only that, the intensity and nature of these struggles has changed.
Only such struggles can give a fitting reply to the ruling class. Struggles guided by revolutionary ideas can bury capitalism under the coffins and establish socialism. Parivartankami Chhatra Sangthan is committed towards achieving this goal.
Through this Conference PACHHAS once again pledges to make this resolve stronger. We appeal you to be a part of the open session starting from 3’o clock on 1st November and extend your support.
